Your guide to supported living with us at 1 Step Beyond
What is Supported Living?
Supported living is where you live in your own home and get help when you need it. You make your own choices about your life. We are here to support you, not to take over.
What Does it Mean for You?
Get Help When You Need It: We help you with things like cooking, cleaning, and taking care of your health.
Make Your Own Choices: You decide what you do each day and who you spend your time with.
Your Own Home: You will have your own flat or house.
How is Supported Living Different from a Care Home?
Supported Living: You have your own home and make your own choices. You have a tenancy agreement, which means your home is yours.
Care Home: You live in a shared space, and staff make most of the decisions. You do not have your own tenancy agreement.
How We Help You Live Independently
Daily Living Skills: We help you with cooking, cleaning, shopping, and money.
Health and Wellbeing: We help you take care of your health and go to your doctor’s appointments.
Social Connections: We help you make friends and join activities.
Your Family’s Role
Family Involvement: Your family can be as involved as you want them to be. We work with you and your family to make sure you are happy and supported.
Why Choose Supported Living?
You Are in Control: In supported living, you make the decisions about your life. You have your own home and can live the way you want.
